Poll on oil consumption ...

In light of the possible issues of carbon buildup, I'm sure many of us are interested in how our oil consumption compares. Please respond with your best estimate of average oil consumption for your R8 in terms of miles per US quart. I know there are a number of factors that will impact this statistic, but the raw data may be somewhat interesting. Thanks for the feedback.

I recall putting in a quart in the first 500-600 miles, then another around 2,000 miles, and haven't needed any since. Had the 5,000 mile service and am sitting around 6,500 miles.

Between 5K and 12K miles I added 1 qt of oil, around 8K. When I first got the car, I added a qt @ 1k and another at 3K, before the 5K service.

On both my '07 RS4 and my '09 R8, I added a quart before every oil change. I would be 9000 miles or so maybe 8500 and the low oil light would come on. It was timed, so it seemed, to be just a few too many miles to wait and too few to have the oil changed early. I always carry an extra quart of Syntec in the boot. When the light comes on, I add the oil. And as you may have guessed, 10K between changes.

Good points ... if there were more answer categories available I could have tried to cover off some of the variables. I was hoping for enough response to get an idea of ranges and averages.
