Please Please Help with MMI!!

Hi guys. I just picked up my new v10 R8 a few days ago.

My question is this: when I put my MP3 songs on a SD, not all songs play on the MMi. I can't figure out why?! I have made sure everything is in MP3 format and not MP4 but still no luck.

I use an iMac. It seems that the songs from iTunes store even though converted to MP3 do not show up on the R8 MMi.

Amazingly I don't have this problem on my Q7 MMi.

Can anyone please help me? Thanks a bunch.

The MMI system in Q7 and R8 are completely different. I will ask around and I think there are several users on here that rely on the SD slots heavily. Maybe they could chime in?

It might be differences in encoding, ID3 tags or bit-rate.

Can you isolate and possibly post one file that plays on the Q7 but not on the R8?

Sure you aren't trying to play files that start with a dot (.music.mp3) - OS/X does this for deleted files....

Really Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll try post a song here soon. Just wondering, would music bought on iTunes, eventhough converted to MP3 work on the R8?

Yes, they do. I have purchased many songs on iTunes and converted them to MP3 to put on SD cards and they play just fine. I use a PC so not sure if that would be any different though.

Oh then I have no clue as to what else I can do. I still have the same problem, i.e., some songs show on SD and some don't even though I have converted all into MP3. And my local Audi dealer has no solution.

how many songs have you got on the card you're trying? also, did you format the card on the mac or just add them to a brand new sd card?

About 200 songs. No I just added them to the card didn't think it required formatting. Same card works on my Q7 but not on R8. Understand they have totally different systems.
