Hi guys,
It's just not working. Anyone had any luck with the system?
Trying to programme a apartment blocks garage opener.
Followed the handbook but no luck.
Any help would be great.

Did you have the ignition on? I think that has to be on to program it.
Just did mine. If you're following the manual step for step, it should work just fine.
I followed the instructions and it works fine for me. My garage-door opener has rolling codes, so I had to program the car to the remote. Then I had to add the car to the opener.
You may need to check to see if your opener is a rolling code type. There are also openers out there that do not work in the normal consumer frequencies. Most likely your manager or other maintenance person may need to be involved to add your car. I would ask your manager as a starting point.

If it is for an apartment that has access to multiple drivers (ie not your family members) it will not work because your system can not duplicate their signal...

Ignition was on, but the car was not started.
I followed the steps, had the lights blinking for five minutes and was pressing the garage door opener every angle possible!
It does form part of a large residential developments of flats. But it doesn't seem to be any special or advance machinery.
What types of question should I be asking the management of the flats regarding their machines?

Contact the management and explain what you want to do. Ask them if it is possible to use the built-in feature of your car. They should be familiar with this type of request.
As mentioned above, some systems are not compatible with the built-in feature. Some commercial units operate in different frequencies or codes. All you can do is ask.

Some remotes do not send a steady signal of sufficient duration to satisfy the programming. I had to borrow a neighbours older unit, program it to our code and then 'teach' Homelink that way?? Good luck.

Unfortunately, I have never been able to use Homelink in any of the places I have ever lived with a community gate.

Just to clarify; I am yet to establish if the system even has a rolling code. As I can't seem to get the car even to learn/accept the signal from the remote when I'm standing in front of the grill.
