V10 Rear Bumper on V8?

Hey guys, has anyone retrofitted a V10 bumper on a V8? Does it fit?
Any issues?

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. If I didn't have a black car, I would totally do that mod. The rear with the gloss black contrast looks really nice imo.

Might be worth waiting to see if OEM Plus ends up getting the R8 GT rear bumper with the vents.

They did mention some of the GT bits are starting to filter through.

By the way when I was down at the Audi Experience day at Phillip Island I was talking to Simon from the Audi dealer here and your name came up and the Orange R8 you had.

Kind words and look forward to you hooking up with another R8 and seeing you at QR or Lakeside as I am persistent tracker now.

You might have trouble keeping up now thou even with your extreme driving..unless of course you have a V10 in back.

But I can fix that and bring the GT-R instead.

It bolts right on. No mods needed.

For that matter, both the front and the rear bumper facia bolt right on.

Thanks Kfab. Have you done this yourself? what about the Exhaust tips? How do the V8 Tips fit the oval tips of v10 bumper?

Yes, I've done this by myself. (OEM installed this particular rear bumper facia, but I've had it off of both of my cars at one time or another.)

There are about 3,451 fasteners holding everything on.

If you decide to go about trying the change out, make sure that you arrange the fasteners in the same configuration as found on the car as you remove them. I put them on a table in their respective position. Some of the fasteners are shouldered and are for particular areas, some are not shouldered.

Start with the fasteners under the spoiler and work down.

I can't recall if there are any of the little plastic push pin fasteners in the back of the car. (like the four under the front end, holding the nose pan). If there are, you push the little button in the center of the fastener up, into it and then the fastener will allow you to pull it out.

The exhaust tips - Honestly can't say. They bolt into the back side of the bumper facia. Whether the V8 tips will fit into the V10 hole or not is something that someone else will have to step up and answer. Maybe Rich from OEM can give you more incite.

Gazza they bought the Daytona Grey v10 spider that was at Phillip Island to Newcastle so i could test drive....must admit I prefer the hardtop but the V10 was nice.

Appears you came to same conclusion as me.

Totally off thread..as we now have 4 confirmed Oz R8 owners including R8v10,bz888,yourself and I

4 R8's for a few days on a east coast drive somewhere and maybe a track day to top it off?

Any suggestions or thoughts?

Gazza great idea.......I guess we have to find a spot handy for all.....the Upper Hunter Valley past Cessnock" wine country" has some great roads...thru the week they are not patrolled much.... on weekends lots of bikes and therefore patrols.
Accommodation excellent.... restaurants excellent...it depends on what we are looking for... nearest track Eastern Creek I guess....
In any case I'm flexible and able to meet North or South.
R8V10 and bz888 are you interested. Gazza maybe start another thread.
