    L.e.d. engine compartment lights

So before my car arrived, I was under the ASSumption that the l.e.d. lights in the engine compartment stayed illuminated at all times, or at least once your headlights were to come on. After noticing this was not the case, I did however, happen to notice they do come on when you turn on one or any of the interior lights.
So, question is... is there a way to have them stay illuminated at all times, or at least at night when headlights are on? It sure does look cool when they're on at night!

OR.... is this again something only our European cars are fortunate to have....

There are many threats on this subject. Search is your friend. I think they are illegal in the US due to distracting other drivers.

I don't think you'd want them on. You of course never get to see them anyway, but I imagine they'd also create a glare on the firewall glass and the engine lid glass. Bad idea if you ask me.

I just tinted my windows @35%. Even before I did that, I personally had no problem with any glare whatsoever. The lights are pointed towards the engine/rearward of the glass anyways. I personally don't see why they even put the l.e.d.'s in there without at least having the option of leaving them on if wanted.

Found a few good threads and posts within those threads that explain a lot about these. Mine do come on when I turn on any one of the interior l.e.d. map lights. I guess that'll have to be good enough for me.

The L.E.D. will automatically switched off 10 minutes after you switched them on.
As far as I know there isn't any way to switch them on permanently
