Did you have to drive along roads like that first shot?
If so, I am quite glad Bec and I left when we did.

This was easily the worst pass (in terms of surface and drop) we went on - spectacular but we took it pretty easy - no three wheeling on this particular pass! ;-)

Yup, it was a shocker. Poor road surface, no width and oncoming traffic.
I have tucked that one away as one to send MikeL on the next time. I think i'm correct in saying that it was entirely his fault. His revised route card forgot to mention that he had reversed polarity and sent us up the Stelvio backwards!
At least we did eh Mike? Where did you go?
BTW, after a pretty average year and having sold the V10, I'm back with a fairly flimsy foot on the ladder - I've just bought a B7 S4, whose engine the R8 adopted, Milltek going on it today. Getting there!!![]()
I seem to remember SBFV10 looking over the edge at one point, looking a church DEEP in the gorge and letting out an almighty swear word :-)

What Steve swear?!
To be honest I kept my eyes very much on the road as well. I've been doing some exposed ridge scrambling this year in Scotland and the Lakes, and felt fine with the drops, difference being there were no mental bikes coming the other way!
I think it was something like "Holy S***"! It's a F***ing LONG way down!!!!
Hope all are doing well!

Ok, so now its my fault Mike spent all day driving back and forth across Stelvio .... Does my memory fail me or didn't your R8 have a Sat Nav too? None of the rest of us got lost - you should have kept your right foot down and kept up ... lol.
Actually Mike L....our Nav System was useless where we were. Out friendly lady wanted us to turn right and left...RIGHT off the side of the mountain!!!
We certainly would have gotten down quickly.....but unfortunately none of us had parachutes!

Sat Nav was on but it couldn't cope with the sneaky reverse manoeuvre you pulled so we would miss the Footie!
I should have swapped co-drivers with you Mike. My wife was cursing the lead driver all the way along that flying lap to Davos. Earache maketh not a fast car. Thanks!
