When I had my RS4, that thing could keep up with all but real supercars in the dry it seemed. Against E46 M3's it could pull away and really handle them in the corners. Against the new C63, where it lagged in the straights, it could more than make up in the corners. Against Z06's and Ferrari's and Viper's, well it could not hang . . . except in the wet. In the wet, nothing could keep up with it. The wetter it got, the faster it got compared to others. I owned the road in the wet in my RS4, thanks to Audi's AWD.
Alas, I got my R8, in part, knowing that it sould be even better in the wet. In truth, so far, does not seem better, but close, but I don't really know yet. At any rate, today is Ferrari Friday for me, but it was wet this morning so I pulled the R8 out of the stable. Now I am depressed I did not get to drive my Ferrari this week, very very depressed, but the R8 is amazing in the wet. I drove it pretty hard through the corners and it was just planted. The Ferrari would have been a sled. While that did not overcome my Ferrari depression, it did put a smile on my face for a few moments, having felt vindicated for choosing the right weapon for the terrain.
I think in the wet, the R8 would truly own the road and only perhaps a Lambo could keep up, while Ferrari's, GTR's, Vettes, Vipers, and other supercars would be eating waterspray.
