Oz r8 road trip

Guys..

A few of us forum members here in Oz have mentioned privately about organizing a road trip for R8 owners here in Australia and maybe any other similar high performance type vehicle owners you might know(Lambo,Ferrari,Porsche etc).

Partners would of course be most welcome if desired.

My initial thoughts was sometime mid Jan over a period of a few days.

Maybe start on a Thursday and finish Sunday.

Suggestions so far have been to start in the Hunter Valley and head up towards Surfers Paradise via the Border Ranges Of NSW/QLD.

Some might want to finish up the Sunday at say Lakeside or Queensland Raceway where all you need is to hire a helmet.

Great opportunity for us Oz members to enjoy a few days with fellow R8 owners on some great mountain roads and Gobsmack the population.

Nothing firm on dates or places so please post your thoughts.

Is this still on?

Days either side of the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of January would work for me.

I would strongly recommend after the Hunter Valley we take Thunderbolts Way and overnight in Armidale, then head back to the coast via Waterfall Way through the Dorrigo National Park to Coffs Harbour.

Have looked over the suggested route and looks really great.

More than happy to join in.. with partners most welcome and optional.

Date no problem for me.

Only suggestion from me is that on that weekend Sunday legendary Lakeside Raceway has its a Street Sprint on.(see attached)

Are you interested in a further 4 hour drive to get R8's on the track and feel the potential of your car without a speed camera in site.?
