    R8 GT US dealer allocations

I know back in September there was an Audi memo saying that they would notify the US dealerships in the next several weeks who would get one of the 90 GT allocations. I was wondering if any one has heard from their dealership that they have an allocation confirmed?

Re: R8 GT US dealer allocations

I was asked by my dealer several months ago if I wanted one. I declined. Haven't heard anything since, though I don't expect to. Overpriced anyway.

Supposedly my dealership does have one coming.

They're waiting on more info, which is expected next month.

Re: R8 GT US dealer allocations

As an R8 & A8 "Champion Dealer," our dealership will get one.

We were told Mid September and our store manager forwarded the official Audi letter around. If anyone is interested I would not mind posting the official Audi notice to employees.

Price is not a concern at this point, we're not taking offers though many have asked. When we do begin taking offers, location and loyalty of the interested buyer will be a determining factor in selection.

Build dates for our GT will be announced after the new year and at that time we are going to decide if we will take offers and order it to customer specs, or just load it up and hope for the best. In my opinion, we should do the latter and let the car sit on the showroom for at least a week or two because once its gone we may not ever see one again.

Options, colors and differences of the US Spec GT have not been officially released by Audi. My concern is what they will do for the Seats as the Euro Spec Seats are not approved for the US market (no airbags.)

Re: R8 GT US dealer allocations

I believe Audi wants these going directly to customers and not showroom floors. My dealer told me he needed to know if I really wanted one, making it sound like they weren't going to get one unless they had a buyer lined up. He forwarded me the Audi letter that said it would be less than $225K.

I believe I read that the base price was coming in at 198K. Not sure if that includes CCB's.

I love the R8, but at $225k, they can keep it.
