    DFW service inquiry

Still in the due diligence phase of this potential R8 purchase and wanted to get opinions of service quality/customer service from the Dallas/Ft Worth Audi dealers.

I have heard a few horror stories from some Audi friends (admittedly not R8 owners) but it is enough to give reason to reconsider...

Is there a "preferred" service center or does everyone R8 owner just get their car serviced at the Lambo dealer?

You should call the local Audi dealers and ask if they have R8 certified techs. Not all dealers are. They only have the properly trained techs work on the R8s.

    Re: DFW service inquiry

The dealership I am dealing with lately has TWO R8 trained techs, (I have been told). Recently I was let to drive home , after oil change, with an oil leaking situation. I am supposed to get a FULL detail because of this blunder.(Oil filter gasket apparently dislodged, coating the lower covers with oil. I am pissed off, to say the least. I feel the techs FAILED ME MISERABLY. Nobody is perfect...But when it comes to MY R8, things better happen, and rightly.Any thing bad that happens to my R8 is readily backed up in my memory file. I think Desparado might just be one of the more capable R8 techs out there.(Besides myself)

Unfortunately, I have learned that you cannot train competency. Thus asking for credentials may not reveal a mechanic's aptitude.

And regrettably, no service department is going to admit their flaws, thus why peer reviews can be so important.

    Re: DFW service inquiry

My R8 service has been great and unlike any other I have had in the past. First for a dealer to sell R8's they must have a R8 certified tech. Where I was servicing they had one R8 tech but he was also the shop manager and most experienced. Was happy with them but not a Stasis partner so now using different who installed my supercharger. They have 3 R8 techs and the one who did my car was the guy in charge. One of the best things about servicing R8 is no one is allowed to drive the car but the R8 tech, So when I bring in he has to come and get.

I service my jet blue 09 v8 at the DFW audi dealership off of the 183 in hurst, Tx. I have not had any problems with them and they have been very helpful. The tech will actually let you back into the work area and show you in detail what is going on with your car.
