Carbon Fibre sideblades fault/problem??

Hey Guys

Just picked up my Audi R8 in black wth carbon sigma side blades.

I have noticed on both blades there are slightly discoloured patches. The surface doesn't seem damaged or different texture, it seems like its underneath the lacquer...

Is this a known issue?

(Other than that its an awesome machine!)

Certainly not an issue for me, mine are faultless as are many others on this forum to my knowledge.

I have never heard of this with OEM CF parts. I have this same problem with my Hofele CF spoiler.

Strange one.. they are definately original parts as I have the original invoice for the car spec.

Its still under warranty, I will get the local dealershp to check them out I think.

I have had this issue, its almost like between the carbon/ clear coat. But I told the service at Audi and they replaced it, then I noticed imperfections in the other side blade on the carbon weave, like its been stretched slightly when manufactured and again told Audi and they replaced it

If your car still in Warranty definitely go to Audi (Y)

Thats re-assuring then, as I feared they would blame an incorrect product being used or something, but the surface is perfect to the touch.

I hope my Audi dealership is fair about it, as I've only owned the car for 1 day!

Mine look great, but cf by its very nature can have some variation in how the weave got laid up. Having said that, the resin shouldn't be discolored.

Upon delivery of mine, the Audi rep that was there said that one of the blades was not up to spec and insisted it be replaced. I could barely see the imperfection, but figured if they want to replace, no problem. When the replacement one came in, it was visibly much worse so it went back and a 2nd replacement came that was "just right."

Its obviously a fairly common issue by the sounds of things then.

Cracking car though, only got it on Sunday and can't stop driving it!
