Attention all members, new and old, Please add Location to Profile

Hello all,

The R8 is an international phenomenon, and we have an erudite and cosmopolitan group of individuals from all over the world participating on this forum. To quote Swansailor, "R8 owners ... are such nice people!"

I've learned from reading your posts that there are important regional differences in how the cars are introduced, marketed, equipped, taxed, sold, insured, delivered, operated, serviced, and warrantied. Many times in considering the information in a post, it's critical to know in which region the writer is located.

It would really be great if everyone provided their Location in their profile. It would be helpful and considerate if you would at least show your state or country. If you are very concerned with privacy, even showing your continent would be so useful!

Do it once, and it will show in the right side of the header on every post you make. Whenever you update the information all of your posts will update as well. It is simple to do:

1. Click Quick Links in the blue bar at the top of any page.
2. Select Edit Your Details from the drop-down list.
3. The very first section is Registration Required Information.
4. Type your info into the text box labeled Location - Where you live.
5. Remember to scroll down and click the Save Changes button.

So much ongoing confusion could be eliminated.

WOW! Thanks to those of you that have already updated your profile with your Location. It's already a lot more fun and productive to read the posts.

Those of you who haven't updated yet: Pay attention to the Location in the header as you read, I think you'll agree it is really helpful!

I was surprised they didn't make this sticky - I've just hit them up on it in case they missed this thread as it seems a very simple way to improve the benefit members get from the site.

First thing I check on new threads...Where is this R8 enthusiast from? It is a little fun trying to guess but the possibilities !!! I guess a true idiot would want to keep that sort of thing a secret.Or maybe embarassed of his land of occupation.

Updating your location helps others answer your questions or at least see if your info may be relavent to them. It is easy to do worth the little bit of time it takes...
