Hi,
I just had this today, when starting the car again after a short 1 hour stop, it displayed "Hill assist malfunction".
I since drove it on a few more occasions today and have not seen the fault again. Any one had this before?
Thanks

Had it on my display as I pulled off dyno rollers but went away after shutting off car and starting again. Checked car with vag right after and no faults found, I wouldn't worry about it.
I get this message sporatically in the display as the car is starting. The system continues to work fine so I think it might be some kind of sensor malfunction or just an idiosyncracy of the startup procedure fooling this detection system?? I'm going to ask about it next time I'm in for something else though.

Thanks guys, I'll get it checked the next time the car is in for something if it doesn't keep on happening more often.
Had this happen once, and then later had it happen non-stop and the hill hold stopped working. Took it in and the fixed it. Just a computer error/hiccup.
