Exclamation i need help with track use of the v10

i went to my dealer in dubai, to ask him if i can use the car on the track and would it effect my car warranty? he said yes as soon as you enter the track your warranty is gone! :S ... but i told him that im just gonna enter an oped day at the track , just for fun driving, i wont mess the car up cuz i bought it im gonna take care while using it . but they said noo way ! :S i think is ridicules to get a super car and u can't use it in a track ! :S

dose anyone know about the warranty policy of audi , cuz i went online searching for it and couldn't find anything.

Some people told me that the dealership just say that to you so u dont take ur car to a track . is it ture ?

are there any legal terms that cancel ur car warranty if you enter a track ?

sooo plz help guys im dieing to get on a track !

The only issue with track usage that I'm aware of is insurance. I would believe that Audi is blowing smoke.

And, honestly, if you don't tell them (Audi) it's been on the track, how are they going to know? It's not like there's some magic "It's been on the track" device that Audi will check. - although Audi does have the ability to read the number of times that you use the launch control if you have the R-Tronic.

Go to the track, enjoy the car, don't tell Audi a thing. Totally ridiculous that they'd put that sort of limit on your car.

well my friend he got the v8 version and he was at Dubai autodroum track, and something happened to his gear box (r tronic ) and then they knew that he has been in a track, from records of the car on how many time he accelerated hard, and his breaking
and they took away his warranty...
    thats gay !

but is there any formal document form audi that states that you can or you cant use ur car at a track

The owner of my Audi dealership is a member at the same private track I belong to and he certainly is aware of my car being tracked and there are no issues at all (other than he does get to sell me tires and brakes more frequently).

I understand your worries but you really need to think about it for a second. How can an Audi dealership say they can tell you tracked your car from the hard accelerations and braking. All your friend has to say is that he drives this way on the street. No dealership can prove that you took it on the track. I agree with the others and say go have fun and enjoy the track. Just don't tell the dealership. There is absolutely no way they can prove you tracked your car. If they say anything, tell them that is how you drive the car everyday. Who is to say any different? Just keep the pictures from the track private. Hehe.

My dealership knows I track by car, and they have made no issue about warranty. I have not had a serious issue with the car, so this has not been tested in real life, but I would be shocked if they ever tried to deny a warranty claim because of my tracking. Their words have been something like "good for you, that's what the car was designed for"

Warranties always include driver ABUSE as a valid reason for voiding warranties. Personally, I have no idea on Audi's policies in Dubai. The world is full of strange culture ways. I would contact your International R8 Audi specialist,...( yes, you do have one),... and not spend another word talking to your dealership.

I would be very surprised if Audi didn't support some type of Audi Club activities at your local track. But then I also think all women should have complete equal rights as men under law. So who knows in Dubai.

Imagine if this fellow from Dubai told the dealer that his wife/G.F. was going to track the car... my G.F. sure seems to enjoy going fast with me and I feel she wants to track soon too.

Re: i need help with track use of the v10

My understanding is that the warranty is through the distributor for your territory. For example, in USA the distributor is Audi of America. Each territory has its own distributor, and each distributor sets the details of the warranty policy within its territory. Therefore warranty policy can and does differ from territory to territory.

You need to find out who the Audi distributor is for Dubai and contact them directly. When you purchased the car new, as Bodhii said earlier you should have been given contact information for an Audi Advocate for your country/region/continent. The advocate is normally someone at your distributor. Or you could contact Audi AG (Germany) and ask them for the contact information for the distributor serving Dubai.

Regardless of the warranty policy of the distributor, your primary point of contact with that distributor is going to be through your servicing dealer. In the event you ever do have a warranty claim, it is going to be very difficult to get warranty coverage if your dealer refuses to cooperate.
