Since the R8 is a chick magnet...The R-tronik is the PURRFECT choice.How else could you hold onto your gal ??? Sure I have to upshift with my left hand since my right hand is busy tickleing my mate.(on a left hand drive car) To me, this is the best feature of the R-tronik.When I get married again I'll probably go with the stick/manual.

The Wife Magnetic Ride option is way more expensive. You have to make a special request, you have to decide what to offer in trade, or sometimes even get her input on what she wants, in exchange for her permission. This is the option that really bumps up the price tag. Sometimes, sadly, even the manual gearbox must be given up.

The option includes feigned disapproval, but somehow the engineers have figures out a way to integrate the phony condescension with an actual willingness on her part to let you drive your R8 when you go out together, instead of having to let her drive her car.

In 2011 dealers will offer a Wife Approval Package, and coincidentally, it is the same price as a brand new supercharged A6 Avant. At least in my case.

Actually this is a one of few cars that pass the wife test. She says hell yes to buying the V10 version.
