No More Brilliant Red in the US?

Has anyone else noticed that the Brilliant Red exterior has been removed from the R8 configurator on the Audi USA website? When did this happen? I must not have been paying attention...It is still a standard option (along with Suzuka Grey, I might add...) on the German site.
Sorry if this is old news, I tried the "search" and didn't find anything.

Anyone have any idea of what years the Brilliant Red was offered and how many there are in the US? My attention has recently been focused on a used 2009 5.2 in red so I am a little curious about the colour.

Audi Canada still seems to have red as standard colour for 2011, not that you'd actually want to pursue that option up here. How come Audi USA also took off Suzuka grey, one of the best colors in my opinion? We still have that colour too. I guess this is what little solace I can take on Canada and our +25% premium pricing.

That is wierd...Canada gets Red, Suzuka, and PQU rims, with the US market does not...The Canadian website set-up is also very similar to the German one....hmmmm...conspiracy?

Now you've brought that color to my attention, that red does grab my interests now.

I think Suzuka will still age the best and not get old looking at it. I tend to be more bias towards monochromatic colors.

I just went to their online configurator and Brilliant Red was still there.

The Audi configurator (at least in the US) is pretty sucky. I'm not sure if I would trust what it says to actually match what Audi sells. Don't believe me, just try to figure out what you're getting for an entertainment system from the choices they offer.

Talk to a dealer and ask to see the order guide.

I just double-checked and there is no red exterior on "my" version of the Audi website....

Yeah. Those online tools are often incorrect or at least incomplete. Best to ask your dealer.

Try using a different browser because you may be looking at a cached version of the site. I just tried that and in both FireFox and Safari (which I never used before to access Audi so there is no cached content) and Brilliant Red is there along with all the other colors.
