I'm betting that high cd is a direct result of the rear downforce.

    That's some interesting stuff.

How much of a difference does a splitter up front make? I know that I've seen a couple threads talking about putting splitters on the R8 and I wondered how much it helps with the front end lift.

This confirms the fact that a Serious Front Splitter and Rear Wing from APR will help frequent R8 track drivers! The R8 needs more downforce or be neutral at the very least.

Bodhii, did you get a chance to go to APR?

    Re: Downforce Comparisons

The airflow photo for the R8 doesn't show the spoiler deployed, but I assume that would be the case at 200 km/h outside the windtunnel?? If they measured with the spoiler down then how would the numbers be expected to change??

Noticed that too. Would definitely help rear downforce. BUT, the front end of the R8 is the problem. Since Audi cut out the lip to assist with driveways and obstructions, the front end of the car is not producing ANY downforce and in fact, produces LIFT!

This needs to be addressed for my situation.
Bodhii!! You are the MAN! Hopefully you guys and APR can produce some good results!!

    Cheers.

Is there an original OEM lip you can copy or purchase?

    Re: Downforce Comparisons

The Owner's Manual states that the rear spoiler MUST be deployed at speeds of 80 MPH or greater, so unless it was manually raised, it wouldn't automatically deploy in a wind tunnel, so those results may be meaningless.
