Had this show up the other day for a few seconds followed by the 'gear' sympbol in the center display. It lasted a few seconds and then disappeared and has not returned ..... glitch or pending issue - what have others experienced??
Thanks, Doug

In the past I had this same thing happen. There is a thread referencing this issue. There is a redundancy in the gear box system sensor. If I knew how to find the thread I would link it, but alas...

had error codes a couple of times, and one instance where the gear box was stuck in third and would not change up or down. Restarting the car has always cleared everything up and restored back to health.
I have had these from around 2,000 miles, not at nearly 25,000 miles and no issues with the gearbox yet.

Dont worry....there are some contact pins above the hydraulic gear controller, sorry no idea how to describe it better in english....go to Audi....they had a recall years a go in europe...they will change the pins and end of the story....
