Hello - just ordered an R8!

Hello All!

First post and a little introduction.

I just put down my deposit for a new R8 (Woo Hoo!)

V10 manual, Sepang Blue (with matching color sideblade), Limestone Grey, Enhanced Leather, Alacantra headliner, illuminated sills.

Delivery is estimated for March.

It's my first Audi and I can't wait!

I'm swapping an Aston Martin Vanquish (garaged exotic) and a Porsche Cayman S (daily driver) - not trading in, both will be sold privately - for an exotic daily driver. I was forbidden the Lambo, so got one in sheep's clothing

I'm looking forward to joining in on the fun on the board.

Very nice. Man I am really beginning to enjoy those Sepang V10's. You made the right choice with your swap of the Porsche & AM for the R8.

HAHAHA! Just wanted to let you know know this is not "abnormal" around here.
I forget who it was (a UK member, I think) but someone replaced their V8 in their garage with a V10 - and the Misses didn't even notice!

I'm in NoCal and will definitely get in touch with the Audi club up here when the time comes. I tend to be a little bit of a lurker but do head out for track days or spirited drive days when they occur. I can't wait to take the R8 out on the track.

Actually, she knows very well what's under the hood. She just rolls her eyes and says "Boys and their toys..." She just doesn't like the in-your-face styling the Lambo has. She actually likes the R8 styling. Of course, she hasn't seen the clear hood over the engine yet

Congrats, Sepang Blue is my favorite R8 color and if I ordered would have been my choice. But would have gone with C/F blades, Think the contrast is one of the things that make the R8 look so great. Going to be a long few months of waiting now... Then again my car will probably not be on road again till almost then, **** winter

You've some nice kit for sale, though a quick glance through only turns up the gear stick knob as a likely purchase right now. Having said that, gussying up the engine compartment is a likely activity. It is on show, after all.

Welcome aboard!

You will love the Sepang Blue. My coupe spec was going to be a silver blade and Ti interior. I like the CF blade but the blue exterior with the silver blade is breathtaking.

I used my R8 to grease the skids for a Gallardo. Now wife loves both.
