Question for those who just ordered

Hello all,
New member here. I just put a deposit for a new V10 coupe, tentatively R-tronic (must admit my total lack of experience with manual, never had to learn).
My question is to do with the ceramic brake option. My dealer said that it is not available for the U.S. (at least they did not show it on the options list they gave me). I seem to remember reading a post here that it would be offered for this year's models. Can anyone confirm this?

The order sheet I was given for a V10 in Sept had the Ceramic option

My car is in production and it was ordered with the carbon ceramic option...this actually delayed the production by 6 weeks due to availability of the brakes ( at least according to the dealer?). So, yes it is available!!

Would someone post the R8 pages from the 2011 USA Order Guide, please? TIA

"Order guide" seems to be a bit of an overstatement. All I saw/got was a copy of spreadsheet looking piece of paper. But it did list all the options and prices, including ceramic brakes.

Sounds about right. Should be a page of options and prices, and a page of color choices. A pair each for 4.2L and 5.2L, four total.

The order form for the V8 has a section marked "Audi Carbon Ceramic Brakes"
in this box, there is a description of:
Ceramic Brakes and Rear disc brakes.
Option code is PC5 and the retail listing is US$9,900.

Thanks for the info guys. I had to go home to get the dealer supplied copy of "US Order Guide & Pricing for the 2011 R8 5.2" Issue Date: March 12, 2110; Revised Date: January 4, 2011 and the ceramic brake option is not on it. May be I am missing the back page though.

Anyhow, just got email from dealer saying the she has been ordered, Ibis White with black side blades, Limestone Grey interior and R-tronic.

I suppose I did enough damage to my bank account already but it is strange that I got the impression that my dealer was trying to dissuade me from getting the ceramic brakes. I don't really beat on my cars but I really hate cleaning brake dust from the wheels.

On another note, I signed up for the 1 day R8 event at the Infineon this Friday 14th. I was informed that all the cars there are now R-tronic, so at least I can find out first hand how that works out and pester my dealer to change the order if I really hate that option.

I received a dealer order form 2 days ago and the ceramic brakes are on there.

Also note that options differ between countries but are still mostly available on request.

For example here in Australia V10 High Gloss Y rims are not listed and appear to be not available but when the dealer checked with Audi H.O. it was not a problem to order.

In regards to the dealer dissuading you, it could be that they want you money as quick as they can.

Ticking the ceramic option does delay the build.. as I asked myself.

I'll pick the instructor's brain on Friday at he R8 event and decide if I should insist on adding the ceramic. I am patient so a delay in the production date does not concern me much.
