Delivery date for first 2012 R8's?

Does anyone know when the first 2012 R8's will be delivered? I'm about to order one (5.2FSI, 6MT -- not a GT) and would rather have an early 2012 than a late 2011.

I seem to remember someone mentioning once that it was the third quarter of the year?

I am in the dealer tomorrow and will ask if someone does not post a answer as fact.

That's really what I'm getting at. If the 2012's have any improvements (push-button start is a glaring omission from the current models) I'll be happy to hold off for a few months. But if they're just going to get a price bump, I'll put my order in now. :-)

You can never be sure of anything but going on Audi's past model year changes with the R8 they are very minimal.

As I understand no external design changes are due until 2013/2014.

Cannot really see any power increase either as it is pretty close to a Lambo already.

If you want to minimize possible depreciation buy a ex demo or very low mile car.

IIRC, new 2011 cars started showing up in August. I got my 2010 in July and there were 2011 cars on the boat with it, but I don't think they released those cars to dealers until August or maybe late July at the earliest.

Usually new model year info starts to trickle out in the early spring with occasional minor changes in options up until fall.

My car was on the boat with SteveR; and it is a 2011MY. Took delivery on July 21-22 of last year.

Ouch, must be a huge bummer to be in that situation and get the previous model year if significant changes were made, or changes that were of value to the buyer who got the older one.
