R8 delivery millage?

So I have been down the audi dealership after a call offering me a great deal on a white/carbon v10 loaded. The story is that it was ordered for a guy that canceled the order.

It was in the back not on display has no number plates so called unregistered. had seat covers but all the outer wrap was off and seemed dusty like it had been standing a while.

It fired up first time

but the millage was 51miles seems a lot for a brand new car?

also had a small dent in the rear and also chip on one of the carbon mirrors but its so much cheaper than RRP and could have it within 2 weeks. My dad thinks its a demo/used car and wasn't very impressed with the service but he is very fussy.

So what would you guys do pay more for a one you ordered or save a load on RRP?

with 51 miles that is consistent with delivery miles. I think mine came with 65 miles. But the dent does not sound good.

51 miles seems correct; I had about the same.

There is a thread on delivery miles, you can search for it. 51 is normal. Sounds like a good opportunity but I would try to confirm the car's history independently if possible.

The dealership should be more then willing to help you out with that car. Tell them to clean it up, remove the dent, and replace the carbon fiber mirror. If everything is in order, I would take it.

Mine had 67 but otherwise in perfect, unused condition.

Most likely the dealership owner (or his kid!) put a few miles on it. No big deal if you get the dings fixed as part of the sale; of course I also understand if your Dad only wants pristine.

The mileage sounds like typical delivery miles. Have a close look at the tires. If somebody has been out abusing the car, you'll see it in the treads.

I only seen the dent when my dad pointed it out but the mirror has definitely clipped something.

Think I'm going to have a better look on my own. See If I can get it on a ramp check it all the bottom. Got a free hours free tomorrow. plenty of time to go OCD on it

Was is the delivery millage so high? all my other cars have mean no more than 10 miles.

My dads over the top with it he thinks I'll get ripped off he's only trying to help I guess

While at the R8 factory in Neckarsulm its was explained that the pre delivery mileage on new R8s would vary from about 35 to 65 miles due to the quality control road testing they insist upon, ( I seem to think my Spyder had about 40 miles on it ) while our driving trip was pulling into the factory gates several R8s paraded past us driven by staff who had been on road tests ( what a job ! )

So that mileage is nothing to worry about, however you need to ask questions about the other concerns as it does seem strange.
