MMI Navigation Plus...what features did you get?

If you read the audiusa website for the R8, their specifics of the MMI Navigation plus list the 40gig system with realtime traffic, HD radio, etc...did the 2011 R8's come with this system or is this wrong and it's the same DVD system in my 2009 R8 but better resolution? Wondering if the 2011 owners can answer this?

Hi, 2011 here...MMI Navigation doesn't appear to come with a 40GB hard drive.

Haha, if it did, I'd be a bit miffed since I FINALLY got the kit from OEMPlus properly installed

Is the OEMPlus kit a DVD system? Sounds like it is with just a higher res screen and quicker chip maybe.

No, it's not a DVD system. Just the latest version of the head unit. I have the 2010 nav and AMI in my 09.

Yes, that's pretty much it. I mainly got it for the AMI hookups. The new screen is great, but I rarely use the nav to see the cool 3D buildings

My 2008 head unit disc was changed out for the 2010 navi disc. Haven't noticed any difference yet.

Sounds like just updated maps, what we're discussing here is an entirely different unit (i.e. the screen and internals are upgraded)

The nav in my '11 Spyder does not display "cool 3D buildings." Functionally it seems no different than the one in my '10 S4.

The MMI in my Q5 has the "cool 3-D buildings" and is a hard drive system (the Buildings can be a pain when navigating downtown in a large city), but my 09 R8 has the old navigation plus...was hoping my new 11 v10 would be much improved..alas probably not
