911 Turbo vs R8 Spyder..anyone had both

Not quite sure if I got it right or am in right place as I am new on the forum
I have a 2004 turbo cabrio and thinking of buying an R8 spyder which I took for a small test drive. Would love to hear from someone who has had both and get feedback on some of my concerns.
-Space- one of the things that you lose with a R8. Use my tubo to go just about everwhere and can bring enough stuff to go to weekend get a ways.
-Cabin air: Turbo blocks just about all air in the cabin, and can drive top down, heater on even when close to freezing, and late nights (I live in northern climate). Never have to keep the top up because women get slighty colder than most guys, so the top is down more often.
I know Audi also has a wind deflector as an option and it is better than just the rear window, but not by much.
-well the lack of acceleration when compared to a newer turbo is not a big thing, I think. Just guessing as I have not tried the newer Turbo, but I would easily opt for the lower acceleration in exchange for the much more pleasant muffler sound.
However, my concerns are space and air cabin...anyone have experiences....

R8 Pluses -
Exotic Car with Porsche reliability
Handles better IMHO
Better resale value
100x cool factor
never gets dull


They are both great cars - The R8 is just so much more fun

Well you seem to confirm what all the test drives say. Porsche faster, more room but ****ty sound and no way as exciting to drive.

With a Audi coupe space is less of a problem and so is cabin air, but sounds like the fun factor has Audi ahead

i had an 09 turbo, not cabrio. the R8 has more room than my turbo. the v10 is comparable to speed to my turbo, but the sound of the v10 wins hands down.

My 2 cents: If it's fun factor you're looking for, then opt for the manual transmission versus the shiftable automatic. It's one of my favorite things about my Spyder.

I assume because the the 50/50 power distribution...

The snows I have on the r8 suck on dry pavement. Car squirms like mad on the highway!

Then get better snows, mine don't do that, I run Dunlop 3D winters, what do you run?

I don;'t know about the hard top models, but the cabrio R8 has much less room. There is no room at all behind the seat whereas the turbo cabrio has quite a bit of room behind the seats.
It's not a big thing if you use the car occassionally or on short trips, but I was interested in getting the feedback from a former Turbo cabrio owner who switched to an R8

I haven't driven either a turbo or an R8 in the winter because I thought it would be a drag to sit in a low car and all the winter clothes and all, but would love to hear your comments on winter driving....I live in Montreal, where do you drive your Audi
