Hi,
There must be a better way to play tunes besides having to download songs to an SD card?
I have an iPhone 4. No auxiliary jack from what I understand. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Devices like this work reasonably well, but sound quality is degraded:

Just tune your FM radio to the frequency you set on the transmitter.
Where in the Chicago area are you? I'm in the NW suburbs.
Thanks Gary. Will pm you re how we know each other.

Do you mind giving me a quick synopsis of how you are loading songs on your SD card? I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks
It has to be an SD card in an 08 R8. I have the same year car as you and HDSC wont work. Just simply make a folder on the card and place all your songs into it. For some reason I find if I copy the songs over on Mac it doesnt work, but from Windows it works just fine.
Some of the later US '08 R8s have the Aux-In jack under the armrest; the early '08s do not. It should be standard on '09+.
How did you format the cards? Did you try formatting them as FAT (on the Mac)? That should work.
I have an early 08 R8 and I mainly put stuff on the SD card; I found out that the SD card should be one of those older kinds since the head unit wouldn't recognize brand new ones I bought at Best Buy.
The only way I can think of, after reading the forums here, where one can play the Ipod of ours is to get in touch with OEMplus and get one of his replacement head units (a $3000+ investment of course)
