If you are waiting to receive an R8, below is some information you might like to have. As discussed on prior posts, unlike BMW it is not easy to track the production and shipment of an Audi. While I have been waiting for my R8 to arrive, I came up with a few links and a time line that may help.
1.) Although it is not available on line your sales rep can/should give you weekly updates during the production process by phone, text or email.
Once your order is in "Production Status" the car is about 3 weeks from being built.
The dealer should be able to tell you when production has been completed.
They should also be able to tell you when your R8 has gone to port.
Most Importantly they can tell you the day it departs port for its transatlantic voyage and which port it is to arrive in the US.
2.) It is my understanding that Audi primarily uses Wallenius/Wilhelmsen ferries to ship their cars to North America.
You can go to this site and see their routes:

once you know your depature and arrival ports and departure date you can figure out which boat your is likely on using this link:

The typical Audi transport schedule: (work backwards from the pick up date)
• Car to be picked up by you at the dealer on “X” date, for example: June 25th
• Subtract 1- 2 days at the dealer to detail the car, and install any remaining dealer options : June 24
• Subtract 2-3 days in transit from the port to the dealer, so: June 22, 23, in transit via truck to the dealer from the VPC (Vehicle Preparation Center.)
Your transport time will vary based on your distance from ports of arrival.
• Subtract another 3 days, the car will typically spend June 19, 20, 21 at the VPC, at the port of entry
• Now look for ships who’s itineraries list your port of arrival on, or close to that date.
Hope this helps!
