IPOD Question

How does one use a Nano IPOD in a 2010 V10 vehicle with the cd changer not the IPOD integration? A quick "search" seems to indicate that the SD cards are the "easiest" route owners use to play their I-tunes?

Any suggestions? I also saw that OEM Plus may offer replacement of the cd changer behind the seats with IPOD as a retrofit.....is this a viable option or is it costly?

Please chime in with what is the easiest and least expensive option?

Will keep your iPod charged and transmit the music to the FM frequency you set. Sound quality is degraded somewhat, but cheap and easy to use.

The AMI conversion works very well. It gives you full control over your Ipod via the head unit and steering wheel controls.

If you're not willing to go that route, SD cards are your next best bet, provided you're looking to stay hard wired to the system.

FM modulators, like mentioned above, also work well, but as stated, loose sound quality over the other two options.

CD's are headed the way of the 8-track and Cassette. I'd upgrade to the AMI setup (I'm glad I did).

Thanks for the tips guys.....I do not own the car but am a serious buyer as it since it is a high optioned car...but the cd changer (as you guys mention) shows the age of the current owner.....in fact the lack of the IPOD capability might end up being a "no sale" for me if owner is not willing to negotiate given the cost of conversion. I need to look into the SD card route some more.

Don't shoot the messenger, but I can't help but view this issue from the standpoint of a current owner. If I was selling I would not deal over this point. Could be the straw that broke the camel's back, so it would be a shame to pass on an otherwise perfectly optioned car over this detail. YMMV
