Got my "Production Slot". Going in to put deposit down. Any last advice? Told 5/7

R8 order has been given a production slot and it's eta here is week of May 2nd. That is FAST!!! I will be one happy camper if that date holds.

I went in and place the order about a month ago and have been waiting for the call. Yesterday I got the email that my order has a slot. I have to go in and lay down the cabbage for the deposit ASAP. Do or die now boys. I am all jacked up. Just to hear the other side of the story I went over to Porsche, Benz, and many other boards to hear all the bashing. Even the die hard Porsche Rats couldn't deny the all around refinement and super car package the R8 has.

So I am in and this is what I have currently. Any last minute thoughts here?

    I ordered this...

    R8 5.2 6-spd manual
    Daytona Gray
    Titanium 5 spoke wheels
    Interior Carbon Sigma
    Carbon Sigma Sideblade
    Enhanced Leather Package
    Perforated steering wheel
    Illuminated Door Sill Inserts
    IPod Cable (NA$)
    Nav (NA$)

(considering titanium package for front grille and exhaust w/ piano inserts but doubt it)

    Congratulations.

Picked the right transmission I see so good choice.

Did you get Color stitching for the interior?

I concur with gazza. You also picked the right color.

You're going to love it. You will take delivery at a nice time of the year.

Personally, I would add the perforated steering wheel and alcantara headliner -- but that's just me.

BTW - I'm a Porsche owner but love the R8's as well. Hope to get one soon. Congrats!!

When I used the online builder and tried to add stitching they forced me away from black seats. Maybe the seats are gray and I am thinking they are black come to think about it.

I will also edit my options. I forgot to add perforated steering wheel.

Looks great. I'll second the Alcantara headliner suggestion. It's hardly a necessity, but it sure makes the car feel more like a car in that price range when you sit in it. It may also have better accoustic properties, but I am just speculating there.

I got mine in Farmington Hills and was happy with my experience there. Feel free to p.m. if you have any specific questions.

I didnt have the Alcantara headliner on the radar screen. What is the deal here and how much is the option? I will go an poke around also.

It's a black, suede-like headliner that finishes off the interior very nicely. I would recommend it since you're already going with the enhanced leather option for a more upscale look.

It's $1,300 as a standalone option, but it's included in the Titanium package if you're considering switching to the black optics.

I am thinking of going ahead with the Black Alcantara Headliner and the titanium wheels but not the package because I would rather the CF interior to match the cf blades.

Wonder if I missed anything here.

Around a 100 day window from deposit to driving is possible. Ordered in mid November with production slot of mid January and dealer pickup scheduled for this week (it is on a transport truck)!

5.2 R-tronic, Daytona Gray, Y wheels, CF blades, ext mirrors, door seals, interior trim, Blk extended leather interior.

    Good luck,
