Overkill IMO.

Drive and enjoy it, it's just a car.

What part do you guys think was overkill? The detailing was exactly what you want to do, and the film covers the usual trashed areas. Not that I would personally film my own car, but nothing here was overkill by any stretch?
given the film covers whatever is underneath it - sealing in good or bad - it makes total sense to do the best possible surface prep before the film is applied.

That is quite a detailing job! I love that kind of stuff.
Detailing is nice, and the results are fun to look at, but mostly really of any use for cars that are being displayed.
It pains me to see how fast the car gets really dirty after a good wash...
The car is very dirty now if that makes you all feel better.
With regards to the film and the rings on the hood. They made a cut out for the rings but filled each ring with a small piece of film.
