R8 track days

After 1 full year of ownership of an r8, I finally decided to take it out on the track. Are there any R8talk members heading out to local events soon.
It would be nice to see other r8s out there!

It's amazing how many people lurk here but won't share their location. Even something as vague as "southeast USA" is better than nothing. Especially true when the original poster is asking members to join him/her at the track! Duh.

You should PM Desperado. He lives in YB. He is a Super Moderator on this forum and a really great person. You should also contact Harrison. He lives in Montebello and tracks his car frequently.

Good luck at the track and BE SAFE. Once you start it is addictive. For me, it is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Thanks Mngolfer.... I have taken my prior cars to the track on numerous occasions, but I surprisingly have never driven the R8 on the track. Just got my new tires ( RE11s) on , and look forward to have a blast!
I am looking forward to see Harrison and Desperado, and get some great advice from them...

See. Desperado is already helping with a track invite.

I hope you have had a number of track days so you can keep up with Desperado. He has one of the slow R8s in town. His SC R8 is definitely a go fast car...and he can drive fast.

Harrison does not have an SC yet, but you don't want him in your rear view mirrors. Rumor has it he pushes hard and is a real driver. He gave me a ride in the mountains and afterward I needed to change my shorts.

Now, now. Mind yourself! This kind of idle talk risks giving me a big head , and worse may discourage others! I am just a guy fortunate enough to enjoy a nice car, one who is working on improving my driving like everyone else. I'm not an instructor or a racer with "real" skills, just a guy with an R8. A car so great it makes me look good.
