Performance With TPMS On

Guys

Placed my second set of rims on today for the first time with track rubber and silly me forget that my Spyder has the TPMS system installed.

Now the TPMS has come on.

So whilst I source some additional sensors for the second rims does having the warning light on affect or restrict the cars performance in any way on the track?

Doesn't effect the performance at all. Had mine come on 15mins after picking it up due to the dealer not resetting it when the rims were swapped over.
Think it was on for just over a week before I took it in to get reset.

I had a defective TPMS on one of my tires just before a track day. It did not affect driving.

I didn't get my TPMS reset after putting the new wheels on, but haven't encountered any warning indicators. Is this normal?

TPMS are automatically reset on up to two sets of tires. For more than two sets of tires you need the dealer, unless you are a mechanically skilled owner.

The TPMS is invaluable when it is working properly. It alerted me to a blow-out even before the tire collapsed completely, preventing me from damaging a rim. Having the TPMS alert on display, is hiding other important info. But who looks at their gauges when they are trying to go 10/10ths!

Info Update...

Since I put the second set of 4 rims(no tpms sensors) on a few months ago,I have had the TPMS light on all the time.

I put my original set of rims back on the car today and after 1 minute of driving the system reset itself and the light disappeared.

No dealer visit required!

Also if you do have the TMPS system light on and you have another warning go off,they flash between the 2.
