Ordered Our 2012 R8 Today

Hi Guys. Ordered our 2012 R8 5.2 Spyder R Tronic today. Phantom Black Pearl, Black Roof, Enhanced Black Leather with Silver Stitching, White Instrument Cluster, Perforated Leather Wrapped Multifunction Steering Wheel, Carbon Sigma Interior Trim and Exterior mirrors, Illuminated Door Sill Inserts... Our Dealer claims that he can place the order for our 2012 in April for possible May/June production with delivery in August/September. It's going to be a long wait.

I don't know.....I think you're supposed to start a minimum of three threads asking if the manual transmission is better than the R-tronic before you place your order.

Thanks for the welcome. Read many of the threads. Watched the videos. Fortunate to have been able to test drive both aggressively (next to private airport runway). Made my own decision to order the R-tronic.

I'm seriously considering ordering an R8 as well. Any info on the 2012 order sheet and the differences between the 2011 and 2012 models, if any?

Congrats on your purchase, the white instrument cluster is soooo nice too expensive to do aftermarket tho

According to our dealer the 2012 Order Guide comes out next month and they don't expect any major changes. We'll know then and adjust our order if necessary. We actually ordered two cars yesterday from the same dealer so we decided to place the R8 order at the same time as our other order even though the R8 can't be put into their order system until next month. I'll be happy to post any differences next month.
