R8 V10 R Tronic UK ordered today!!

Well ordered my R8 V10 R-Tronic today Due August but dealer is pushing through contacts to get July. Will get any new adjustments on car that come through on the May R8 model adjustments...though dont know what they are yet.

Spec was white, with carbon mirrors, carbon interior including around engine & blades, black pack, bucket seats with grey stitching, ceramic brakes (for track use), rotor wheels and a few other additions.

re dealer got 6% off and guaranteed trade in price (actually reasonable) on my R32 for August...so not bad.

Now the long wait....and looking forward to chatting to you folks going forward

...before someone asks i will post pics when i get in hands :-)

Can I ask did you test drive both manual and R-tronic?

Just curious, on right-hand-drive models, do they fully reverse the layout of the R-tronic shift lever buttons so that A is closest to the driver? Or do they just leave it as it is on LHD models?

My old A6 was a RHD Tiptronic but the pattern was the same as on LHD cars, which I always thought Audi could do better.

Congrats on the order, the black pack sounds peculiar to me though, why would you want your exhaust tips looking like they are coated in soot all the time? I would stick with the chrome exhaust tips to which I've applied GTechniq C5 so if they get black I just give them a wipe and they are gleaming again.

haha or you can argue that they hide the soot each to their own but actually i think it adds something unique to the car...and i like to be different

yes and i prefer the R-Tronic. ive had lots of manual and semi auto sports cars cars and R-Tronic was my choice.

I would be interested to know how it gets on on the track not sure if your planning to track it or not?

I only got a tiny test drive in the R-Tronic got up to a whole 40mph
My manual doesn't seem that smooth over 110+ but maybe its my driving :/

Yes chose the R-Tronic also as will do various track excursions as not many areas (if at all) you can explore its full potential on UK roads, so will certainly let you know how it performs.

I'm going to try and get to as many track days as I can just look out for the young kid with a white V10 coupe with carbon pack and bright red seats.

might even have pink rotas on if they fit

I bet your itching to get it that the reason I found one in stock not as special but at least you don't have to wait well when its not broke in my case aha

...yes thats one reason to buy saves the wait and run in etc but i do like to spec my own car if honest. oh the excitement of waiting...will have to do the Le Mans run in 2012, have not been back since got rid of my Tuscan S
