    R8 nf?

Is the R8 NF a future R8 variant or is it the next-gen R8? When is the new lambo gallardo going to be released as this is most likely the platform of the next-gen R8...

Part of me is aghast at the thought of the R8 phasing out while another part of me is thrilled with the prospect of my V10 Spyder becoming a "keeper" due to rarity and a short run. Look at what it id for the NSX: those cars simply do not depreciate! Most cars today depreciate 50% or more in 3 years while a 20-year-old NSX has depreciated just 50% and isn't losing value every year but remaining pretty steady.

I change cars very frequently but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of keeping my Spyder for a long, long time: otherwise, I'll have a hard time justifying the expensive modifications I'm putting into her which won't retain a lot of their value on resale. So, for me it would be ideal if the R8 didn't get a new model and Audi were to phase it out altogether, though I am not advocating it at all so please don't yell at me!

A lesser form of the one and done idea would be if they dropped the V10. As long as Lambo is out there, I'm assuming no, but it would be fun to own the last big motor R8 version. It'd be like the guys who bought 454 Chevys.

Chevy still makes BIG and BAD motors !! MUCH better than the old 454s. All aluminum is the way to go these days!!

    Re: R8 nf?

Interesting: BMW M engines were traditionally low displacement naturally aspirated high reving engines, particularly the S85 V10 in the E60 M5 and E63 M6 and the related S65 V8 in the E90 M3.[8] However, starting with the X5 M and X6 M, and expected to feature in the F10 M5, BMW has used the turbocharged S63 due to rising international regulations, as reducing CO2 emissions and fuel consumption are cited as the reasons not to continue further development on the V10 engine.

Didn't know that. It's indeed a shift from M's NA engine tradition...
