The ultimate r8 factory tour???

Just received a invitation from Audi Germany to be present and to take a tour of the R8 build factory at Neckarsulm to see my own actual R8 Coupe being built as it moves down the production line.

Construction of my Coupe starts on 6/4 and it will be rolling down the line on 12/4 when I will get a view.

After that we will be off to the LMS Factory.

Hope they allow cameras!!!

Been there, done that. A trip of a lifetime, you will enjoy every second. Photos are not allowed. Peter Schilling is the best host ever, you will be lucky if he will take you around.

Yeah, sorry Gazza.... No Cameras! But it's a great tour, you will appreciate the R8 even more. I got a lucky trip to the test track nearby and saw an R8 get absolutely flogged!!
I was sold after that moment!

Yeah, they won't officially let ya. BUT, on the day, when you're cruising around on the Bus to get around the complex, ask the bus driver to take you past the track and promise you won't get out!

We did this on our Eurpean tour last year, it was wonderful, we even had a chance to watch a demo from the LMS team who had just won a big race, the whole factory turned out with flags.

The production tour was really great, although they say no cameras we did and we had no problems, when you going? if you see an Orange GT being built it may be mine as its due to go onto the line any time now, if you are lucky enough to have a free lunch with Audi do it, the food is great, they also gave our tour team a gift at the end, well worth doing.

Tour day is April 12th.

Will look out for a Orange GT..Do you have a Manufacture date as yet?

In Europe April 6-May 14th..so miss out on another tour(highlands)

Even though we are doing all our usual 10-12 countries driving around including French/Italian alps,Nuremberg Ring we are this time heading up to the Arctic Circle in Lapland to stay in a Igloo and drive some Huskies sleds.

Also dropping into ABT and possibly PPI in Germany to look and see things first hand.
