    Cool New member :)

    Hi all,

Thought I should get my first post in... Just recently bought a '09 V8 in Germany. Phantom black pearleffect with lava gray sideblades... Carbon interior trim and engine trim... BO sound system which I am loving especially with the alcantara headliner which reduces the echo of the sound

Will post some picture as soon as we have a sunny day and I can take some good ones...

In the meantime, was wondering if anyone knew where I could find an electronic version of an English language manual for the car, the one supplied with the car is all in German and am really struggling to understand things... cant seem to get the homelink to work and a couple of other things...

    best regards to you all!

    Congratulations and welcome.

You can download the English manual from my Dropbox account. Here is the link:

    Hi guys,

I have a question regarding the homelink...

Has anyone programmed outdoor gate units where the motor and electronics are housed in a box (aluminium/plastic) and which are also rolling code units? Trying to program my front gate but cant get the gate receiver to learn the homelink signal (after I teach the homelink with my remote)... According to the R8 manual, I need to find the programming button on the outside unit but cant get to it as it is a big black steel box with only a cog coming out of it which wheels the gate....

Are you referring to the gate to a parkade? As far as I know, none of the Homelink systems on Audis (or any other cars) work with these systems. My company builds a lot of condominium buildings and we use security systems that prevent unauthorized devices from "learning" the codes in our various access points, including parkade gates.

You can't program in Homelink that use rolling codes UNLESS you have access to the receiver (to get it into learning mode). Most gates in my experience do not use the rolling code systems, as they have limited memory capacity (i.e. gated communities with 1000+ members).
