Wiper problems anyone ?

Noticed my wipers are missing a strip on driver side so took a closer look.

1) wiper wasn't sitting against the screen across the whole blade (defective blade?)
2) when observing from outside the car I noticed that the wiper sweeps beyond the glass and fouls on the windscreen frame by about an inch at the top of it's travel - surely this can't be right.

Had noticed from new a clicking noise from inside the car at the end of the wiper sweep and thought this was normal - think I've found the reason now.

Anyone else ?

Easily adjusted by the dealer. I had the same problem once when I accidentally moved the driver's side wiper blade while washing the car and the very tip of it would then hit the A-pillar when it swept all the way up to the left (to the right for you folks in the UK). The service department fixed that for me in 2 minutes.

Yeah, this is how the wipers behave when they are not set right (been there, done that), it's easily fixable.

I had similar issues but they fitted new wiper motor/unit...

Dropped my car into the dealer for them to fix the problem.

Guess what ? The left and right wiper arms had been put on the wrong way around ! After swapping the arms and the blades on the arms (around 15 minutes) everythings sorted.

Thought Friday afternoons didn't exist on the R8 line ........

Yeah, ELSAWIN warns the technican not to put the wipers the wrong way... although the same effect happens with the right way, just the wiper not properly set as well.

My wiper arms also got put back improperly and it put a nice scratch in my windshield.
