Steering feeling light at speed

So decided to finally unleash the reigns on the R8 and give her a nice open throttle run.
Weirdly, at about 160mph the steering seems to feel very light, as does the car, to the point of it making me back off the throttle.

Never had this in my RS6, took that to 196mph with no issues (ironically against an R8 )

I would have thought with all the features to increase downforce on the R8 it would feel the opposite, anyone else experienced this?

I should point out, it was on the AutoBahn and not on public roads!!
