Anyone used the Go pro Hero?

Any one bought or used one of these ?
Just purchased a Go Pro Hero motor sport camera for our road trips ( so i can give everyone an edited dvd of their tour after each event ) the HD video works well, however i am having some difficulty mounting it to the inside of the windscreen using the suction swivel mount, I just can’t get the right angle for a good straight shot, i can mount on the outside of the car but don’t want to do this as i don’t wish to attract attention from the boys in blue when we are enjoying the open roads in a convoy of R8s. Porsches, Ferraris and Lambos!

I tried googling for info but can’t find anything helpful and have e mailed Go Pro but no reply yet, any suggestions as i don’t want to use the dashboard 3M sticker mount for obvious reasons.

    Thanks

The little Hero HD is a great camera. Battery life is good, video quality is excellent, sound isn't bad either.

With all the mounts that come with it, you can't make a two or three link setup that allows you to mount the camera as desired? It may look like some sort of Transformer toy when you're done.

I know for sure it can be mounted on inside of the windshield with the camera upside down, and then you can just rotate the video in your editor.

I know the pivot limitations of the camera housing can be a bit awkward, but there's usually a way to get the finished product you want.

    Got one. Great camera.

Use a sticky on the inside of the windscreen, shoot in upside down mode. Also, they make some great accessories. The skeleton case allows you to cable it up to the cig lighter for full time power, access to the memory card without opening the case, etc.

The new LCD backback is really slick. I just picked that up and it's really nice because one can now confirm your shot and setup prior to asking yourself is this going to look any good? I hope so!

When I shoot in the R8 I usually have the camera in the back window shooting forward so you can see the driver and passenger. As already said, if you want to shoot just out the windscreen, upside down mode on the camera works great. It flips the shot for you.

My Contour HD camera (a competitor brand) came with a really high quality suction mount http://contour.com/camera/accessories/windshield you could stick it to the side window yet point the camera forward...

The GoPro HD is one of the best gadgets i've ever bought. I need another one (or two or three!).

Here are two different tracks using the GoPro HD. Blackhawk farms had the camera on the windshield. Road America had it mounted on the front bumper near the license plate. I called GoPro and they told me they had tested the camera at 180 MPH without it falling off the windows. The fastest I have been is 160 MPH so that was not an issue.
