    Laser Jammers again

I thought I had it all solved buying the Laser Interceptor and the BelronicsSTI R Plus until Ritz sent me the attachment below of LI being sued and the possibility that they may be out of market soon.
I called Blinder since it was also an option. I know the guys at LIDAR tested and said LI was the best but that was in 2008. Seems that the new Blinder M27 now works as well if not better. Speed measurent Laboratories did tests in 2011 and results seem good. I've included the site below.
QUESTION: any comments on the two jammers LI or Blinder M27

    Re: Laser Jammers again

Honestly, who cares if they are being sued? lawsuits are part of doing business as well, not every company being sued will end up closing shop.

I have seen reviews more recent than 2008 that say they are better, however, I'm sure blinder is a great choice either. Just get what you're most comfortable with and I'm sure it will be protect you well enough.

Blinder is clearly a good choice due to their history. I had a blinder on a previous car, it did work great and I had no complaints.

I've also just seen that this suit is from 2009, any updates?

You may be right about the lawsuit thing, and I just talked to Cliff the owner of LI and I tend to beleive that the lawsuit is maybe just an intimidation thing. So unless I get different and convincing info I'm going to go with LI.
I was under the impression that you presently had a Blinder.
No real update on the lawsuit.

It fascinates me when people quote a post which is right above their own or in this case quote their own post!

    Re: Laser Jammers again

I have gone with the Escort 9500ix and the Shifter ZR4 on the past 3 cars without any research. I like how they work as one unit since it is made from the same company. After doing some research I also read about the law suit on the LI etc. Also found out the shifter is just an OK product. I was reading about the LI and the Blinder and how good they were. From what I read They are both good products, but for the R8 I am having the Blinder M47 and the Valentine 1 put on right now. I should be getting car soon, so I will see how well it works.

    Re: Laser Jammers again

I've been running the V1 & Blinder M47 setup for a while and love the way they work.

The V1 may be more sensitive to falsing, but overall, I still think it's one of the best detectors on the market. If Valentine would add in the GPS feature and the ability to mark known falsing locations, it would probably be the best unit on the market, bar none.

The V1 will false on laser signals, which can be annoying, but with the Blinder sitting along side, I know when it's a legit signal.

The new Blinders (M27 & M47 as opposed to the M25 & M45) have some nice features - they only transmit for 7 seconds during a jamming and then they shut down for 30 seconds and reset.

It also doesn't false when meeting upper end SUVs (Infinity comes to mind) that use laser sensing for (what I assume is active) cruise control. The Mx5 series were prone to it. It was quite annoying to sit there at a light with one of the SUVs across the street and the little Blinder screaming away.

Blinder also offers software upgrades that are installed with a USB cord.

I went a bit farther than most during install and wired in an on/off/volume control on my Blinder.

I had the Escort 9500 series in a Cayenne Turbo and absolutely despised it (and that ****ed Porsche too). It falsed all the time and I'm so used to the arrows on the V1, that I found the Escort to be a total pain in the arse. The laser jammer section of the Escort that I had was about the only thing I liked.

I must admit that I'm curios about the LI - is it available or can it be brought into the US?

I'll more than likely do the V1 and either the LI or another M47 on the new car. Once again I'll stick the display for the V1 in the mirror and the control for it in some discreet place, as I will with the controls for which ever laser jammer I end up with.

I wish I could take the V1 and the STI-R and meld the features of the Beltronics unit into the V1's reception capabilities. Now that would be a killer unit.

    Mike Valentine, are you listening?

Valentine's shop is about 10 miles from me - I guess I need to go in and start being a pest. He shows up at a local Cars & Coffee on occasion and made positive comments about a billet mount I made for a friend, so maybe he'll be open to suggestions if I run across him again.

You might be right, but those false alarms on the V1 drive me nuts and don't let me DRIVE, I have no real way to black list them.

That said, another advantage of the STi-R is that radar detector detectors (RDDs) don't detect it...

Regarding the LI, there is a US distributor http://www.laser-interceptorusa.com

And agreed re fusing the features to make one killer unit. Make Mike listen
