    To Modify - in Australia!

    Hey guys

Took delivery of my R8 the other week - 2009 V8, black on black - absolutely in love with it!

I'm sure the modification bug will set in soon, so I wanted to hear from any fellow Aussies out there - what have you done, where did you go?

    Love to hear your thoughts!

    Erik

Congratulations on your purchase and nice to see a new Oz owner post.

This forum has so much information regarding mods that search is your friend.

Myself and another Oz forum members have lots of info we would gladly share if you ask specifics.

For your first mods I would start with a exhaust and Hr Springs.

    By the way what city?

Australia seems to have a booming Audi modification market. I've sent a fair larger share of items to Australia in the past few months than I have any other location than the US. If you are looking for assistance in getting items down to your neck of the woods don't hesitate to PM or email: contact@europrice.us

    Cheers,

Gazza1 and bz888 (?) are great sources for local info. Is "Salt" still on here? I think he might have sold his already...

Is it just me or are there lots of others out there who are happy with the stock exhaust note? Once I disabled the valves and allow them to stay open all the time, I find the exhaust note to be just great and certainly not in need of being any louder. My only complaint is the lack of responsiveness of the throttle pedal in that very slight blips of the pedal don't cause much reaction - call it "insensitive" - so I have to push a bit harder to get the increase in revs and the sound I want. But that's not a function of the exhaust but an insensitivity of the throttle pedal and linkage. Other than that, the stock exhaust sound is wonderful and the only time I'd want it louder would be if I take her to a car show and someone wants to hear the engine.

I tend to agree with you re the exhaust as I did the same thing with my V8 Coupe when I first got it and I thought awesome.

However after the months fly past..it creeps up on you..you want more!!

Re sensitivity I also agree..its a car primed to have a sprintbooster installed as I really enjoyed the one I had in the coupe.

3 levels or totally switched off depending on the mood.

I will wait till I have the chip and exhaust installed to see the result of pedal sensitivity.
