Shouldn't be smelling any clutch burn unless you're riding the clutch.

    Re: Clutch Smell

Clutch burning has a very distinct smell, and pushing the car has another smell altogether... are you sure it's clutch smell?

A burning clutch has a smell that is pretty "toxic" smell and you wouldn't *want* to smell it more than once, you'd step away until it goes away. If that's not the case it's something else.

    Re: Clutch Smell

What does a burning clutch smell like?

Also won't most fumes coming from a car kill you off? Which is why if a car starts smoking if you don't get out ASAP you will die from toxins?

    Re: Clutch Smell

The smoke from burning plastic might knock you out in short order, but most of the things which go up in smoke on a car are not fatal. Some guys actually like the smell of tire smoke.

    Arrow Re: Clutch Smell

Over heated clutch can smell very much like overheated brake pads too. I enjoy the smell...a little bit, especially when the smell is coming from a competitors car.

    Re: Clutch Smell

harrison, I think you are confusing the smell of over worked brake pads with the sweet smell of VICTORY!!!

    Re: Clutch Smell

To me overheated clutch smells a bit like burning fiberglass. It really is a bad smell and is nothing like burning plastic.
