Radio Reception/ tail pipe removal - new owner !

Does anyone have the problem of after about a minute or so, the FM stations, which were being detected fine, suddenly start disappearing or becoming greyed out until no stations can be detected. Is there an aerial in this car?

Considering removal of the chrome tail pipe to apply some polish. Is this possible?

Can't comment specifically on your radio problem, but radio reception in general on the R8 is not stellar.

To remove the chrome exhaust tips, one must first remove the rear bumper. This is a fairly time-consuming task and requires use of a service manual for the correct sequence and to know where all the hidden fasteners are located.
