Out with the old and in with the new . . .

Last Sunday, I met the delivery truck to part with a dear, beloved old R8. While it was a sad affair, it had more than a bittersweet ending, as I got to adopt a newborn with a much "softer" top.

While I miss the departed one, I am having a great time bonding with the newborn, especially since it was 85 degrees in Chicago last Sunday!

[In case anyone notices, the image was slightly redacted to remove the license plate!]

The V8 Spyder's are starting to trickle in to dealers. When I found mine a month ago on cars.com, I think there were 13 listed at dealers in US. Mine was shipped from a Florida dealership. One of the dealers around Chicago had one but were not willing to deal competitively on either the trade in or purchase side. Not quite sure why.

Why doesn't someone suggest a GTG date for the Windy City R8 drive!

Would love to have kept both, but then I would have had to spend 1/2 of my net worth in the divorce my wife would have inevitably filed! If that were the case I would probably end up with just one car and it probably would be a Hyundai or Kia (not that there is anything wrong with cars made in Korea - they just lack some of the good lines of the R8)!!!

I will start a thread on a GTG now. We'll get some ideas as to what works best for all, and even then, we will have to hope Mother nature cooperates!
