Ibis White or Ice Silver? Help!

    Hi guys..

I cant decide between Ibis White or Ice Silver for my upcoming R8

The Sideblades will be in Carbon Sigma definitely

Interior will be either Red Mustang or Black depending on the car colour.

Can i get some advice from those who owns Ibis White and Ice Silver. Especially tips on maintaining the shining look of the car?

    Appreciate the help guys!!

I have an Ibis White V10, and my wife has an Ice Silver Metallic supercharged 3.0L V6 A6 Avant. If you get the clear bra, which I recommend, it is less visible on the white, more visible on the silver.

The shine is easy to maintain. I have never had to use any sort of wax. Just once over with soapy water, rinse, towel wipe, and it looks like new. Somehow the white always looks cleaner than the silver, even if it's really a little dirty. The first 2000 miles or so the brake dust accumulates quickly behind the front wheels, but this rinses off easily, and stops being an issue after about 3000 miles.

    I'd definitely do white again.

Don't get Silver. Get Ibis White. Since the primer is white, all the chips in the paint from road debris will look white anyway, so you might as well start out with white in the first place.

Anyway, Silver is for light in the loafer types and tree huggers. Robert Redford gets Silver. Don't get Silver. Alex Van Halen likes white. Get Ibis White.

I use a microfiber towel with diesel oil. The diesel oil dissolves the road grime and bugs, fills in the fine scratches, and leaves the car very shiny. Don't use it on the windshield though, otherwise the rainbows will make you think you are having flashbacks.

My grandmum used to use a little diesel fuel on her mop...To leave a little shine on the cement floors...We don't condone this anymore.

    It's quite simple.

The Ibis White looks excellent on the 5.2L. The glossy black bumper insert does an excellent job of breaking up the white and adding a whole lot of class.

Ice Silver looks better on the 4.2L. It's shine makes up what is lost by the lack of a bumper insert on the rear, and goes well with the stainless steel, circular, dual exhaust pipes.

Both look excellent in their own right.

If I were to order my own, I'd go with Ibis White, everytime. White is timeless.

Just look at that beautiful bum in white.

And that aggressive ride height even in stock. White just pops and has a nice contrast, but this is just me.

Here's proof that Silver makes the R8 look weird:

The pros for Audi advertising have chosen silver. All the R8 ads that I've seen are silver. The silver also hides road dust well. But both colors are great. Can't make a bad choice.
