I know some of you on the site have added aftermarket wings/spoilers and dis-engaged the stock one. I've just fitted a pretty major wing to add downforce. What's the best way to disconnect the stock one? Thx

Well, the stock spoiler does more than just add downforce/stabilization. It allows hot air to escape too, Ive been told. I have the PPI "mini" wing. I have my stocker on a switch and usually run stocker at 33% up. I found the wiring to spoiler motor in hatch lock area. Snipped the red wire and whalla. Now I can set it and forget it. A beep will still be heard when spoiler should come up and it displays an alert too.Alert goes off of display when veh. slows. People will ask why the beep, always around 66 MPH ?? " Passenger eject enabled" for those who ask too many questions. So, if you can put your spoiler on a switch like I did you will have the best of both worlds.

The procedure using VCDS has been outlined in this thread I created previously.
How to disable the OEM R8 rear spoiler using Audi diagnostic software
To summarise what I've done:
1) Disconnect plug which connects to the OEM rear spoiler motor
2) Attach blanking plug into connector mentioned in 1 above
3) Disable spoiler with VCDS
4) Optionally insulate pin on spoiler switch in centre console to prevent button from illuminating as outlined in Rieger document in the other thread.
