    Delivery brought forward

Went to visit my dealer today just to check everything is on target for end of june / beginning of july delivery, as had been previously told the car goes on production line from beginning of this week and was surprised to hear that it is nearly 'already' built and is due on its way to the port for delivery for expected delivery to me end of this month!! so 1 whole month early.

Talk about efficiency that it got built in 5 days ;-)

Dont know if its due to my spec being Ibis with standard black leather (bucket seats) with all the carbon trimmings and black package i would be surprised one was already spec'd to this but who knows but clearly was a nice surprise...i know my London dealer salesmen has v.good connections with the factory but wow did he do a good job.

anyone else in uk got theirs early?

Probably best to wait until it actually arrives Alf, I've read of other forum members whose cars have missed the boat despite apparently being at the docks in Germany for weeks just waiting to be loaded onto a boat.

Congratulations though, not long to go now. I admire your patience.

That's especially efficient considering how Audi's sales have skyrocketed. I'm a licensed ocean freight forwarder and don't know anything about port congestion in Germany being much of a problem, though I'm retired and not on top of things lately so maybe there are delays getting onboard vessels, especially since cars go on Ro/Ro ships and perhaps high demand may cause a backlog. Hope you get your car soon! Drive her in the best of health and safety and have fun!

    Re: Delivery brought forward

Checked with dealer today and Audi factory found a slot to bring forward the only thing is its 2011 model as the 2012 was not being built until this month. The dealer checked and the only 2012 upgrade for the UK market was LED registration lights so dealership are going to see if they can be fitted after delivery.

As its just the LED lights im missing out on, im fine with it.

I think alot of the members will be interested to learn of the factory spec licence plate bulbs since they've been having alot of problems with aftermarket LED bulbs except the ones from ultraleds.co.uk which work perfectly.

As soon as I'm done updating ETKA hopefully I can find a part number for these.

    Re: Delivery brought forward

My 2012 Ibis White 5.2 Spyder was scheduled for production week #24, June 13th and I just received a call from my dealer who told me that it went into production today! Unfortunately, Audi will now not allow me to change my wheel option to the wheels that alfessex selected.

mmm thats seems a tad unfair all they have to do is take a different set of wheels off some 'rack' and put on your car....

Precisely my words to the dealer. I haven't given up yet. But, Audi is just being Audi. Distribution claims that all of the parts have been pulled and can not be changed at this point. I have asked my dealer to go back to his factory rep. and to distribution again. On a nearly $200k car they could certainly swap out the wheels at this point.

Good News! My dealer's Factory Rep was able to convince the Head of Distribution to make the wheel change. Dealer is going to email revised order status report. Thanks again Alf.
