    From Ferrari to R8

I am a new comer in this section. I sold my F360 recently and want to move into a F430 but my 12 years old son is pushing me into buying a R8.

Has anyone in this forum gone from a Ferrari to a R8?
I know R8 is great car but does it get boring after a year. In this forum, everyone is talking about every day usage of the car but does it still excite you after one year of ownership. I kept my Ferrari for 3 years and every time I drove it, I was smiling. Is R8 the same?

You had a Ferrari 360 and maybe want a R8, and you go by the name, Porsche Racer. Isn't that a recipe for mega visits on a therapist's couch for identify crisis?

The member raptorduck has (or had) in possession a Ferrari 360, R8 V8, and Bentley. Not sure if he frequents around here anymore.

I know a few that own both, and prefer the R8 as the better ALL AROUND car!
The general public won't let you get bored with this car, they will let you know how special it is every time you're out in it!

I have owned a 355 Spider, 360 Modena, 2 different 550 Maranellos, a 430 Spider, and a 599 GTB. My V10 R8 Spyder is faster than all of them except the 599, handles better (the 458 is another story; that car is pure magic), is the best track car of the bunch, and somehow feels less fragile. I miss being a Ferrari owner more than the cars themselves.

    YMMV

Are you getting the same thrill when you drive the R8 as you drove your 430 spider. I don't know how to explain it. When I sat in the Ferrari and looked at the prancing horse on the steering wheel it gave me special feeling. It felt like I am part of something. A racing heritage. I know R8 is fast, however, at the end of the day it's an Audi (no offense). I think you can tell what I mean from selection of great cars you owned.

    Re: From Ferrari to R8

I feel like Allan McNish behind my R8 just going to work or the grocery. Audi has "heritage" and it doesn't need any more "hype", the brand makes great cars and SUVs. It's also a plus to belong to a group of peeps in this forum who are less ego-centric (hence, a pretty secure bunch) than what I've noticed in other forums.
