R8 "Pure Sport" model for United Arab Emirates

I saw announced in the news about a month ago, that Audi is building a couple of country specific models of their cars, including the R8 "Pure Sport" which will be sent to United Arab Emirates.

The articles I saw were short on details. Anyone out there with information on specs, or differences from a "standard" R8?

Europe and the states aren't important enough to get special models then.

I dont know if this is true or not true however i wouldnt get sensitive about the matter mate. All it is is marketing. They (audi) know that people in that region dive for things with labels like "limited" "exclusive" etc etc even if these features are small things that people in europe and the states wouldnt even be interested in most likely. Truth be told the real "limited" CAR rather than just silly options is available for the whole world to enjoy if wanted and that is the GT :-).

That's cheap, here the v8 starts at 178,940 euro's ($255k) and the v10 212,430 euro's ($300k).

Also in the pipeline is an R8 V10 Pure Sport which Audi will sell exclusively in the United Arab Emeriates and is scheduled for a launch in June. Price tag on that model will be 500,000 Dirhams (€94,000 / $136,000).

Only 40 units of the Pure Sport will be made.

Says Audi sales boss Peter Schwarzenbauer:

"There's nothing better than tailoring cars to specific markets. We see huge potential for business with limited special editions."

Last year, Audi issued a successful Black-and-White limited edition series of the TT model in China, where 450 units were sold for a price of €54,000 ($78,000).
