Radio and CD problems - mute button

Hi there and a bit of advice from the UK sort please. I have a 1 year old V8 R8 and I simply love listening to the engine as I drive. If I mute the radio or CD player when setting of thats fine. If I then park the car and turn the engine of, then get back in the car and start the engine again, although previously muted the music will come back on. The only way I seem able to silence the radio or CD player is by switching off the unit rather than muting it. This cannot be right as I never had this problem with previous 911's or BMW's.

Once the mute button has been activated, I believe it should stay muted until I choose to turn the music back on. Any thoughts or comments please ? Thanks

There was a recent thread about this. Mute is not "sticky", but there were several work-arounds which were creative. Maybe one of those will work for you.

That is strange. It sticks in my S4. Are there any MMI updates that might fix this?
